Situated near the Commercial Port, it contributed to the setting up of Yanbu Industrial Complex, exporting its products to various parts of the world. Extending 16 miles [25 km] along the coast, it is the biggest port on the Red Sea for loading oil. It has 22 quays and receives tankers ranging in capacity from 1,000 to 500,000 tons. Its control tower is equipped with radar, modern communication devices and data recorders. In 2000/2001, it handled 27,284,424 tons of cargo.
