Achievements in Education

The early years were difficult but, under Prince Fahd’s leadership, those employed by the Ministry of Education made strenuous efforts to lay the foundations for a comprehensive educational system. A virtuous circle was established as the people responded to the educational opportunities provided by the Government and the Government continued to invest ever larger sums and ever more resources into the educational system. Even with the determination of Prince Fahd and his successors at the Ministry of Education, and with the generous resources provided by the Government, it took time to fulfill the original ambitious goals but, as an indication of what was achieved between 1970 and 2000 we provide figures for the number of schools and the number of students in the Kingdom in that period.
