The principal health policy of the Kingdom is to provide comprehensive healthcare to all citizens and residents throughout the country. To meet the increased demand for healthcare, the Government’s annual expenditure on the health sector in 2000 was estimated at SR13 billion. The Ministry of Health has finalized plans to establish eight new hospitals and renovate and expand 215 existing hospitals.
