The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, who is also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, today decorated Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdul Aziz, Assistant Minister of Interior for Security Affairs, with the King Faisal sash, in recognition of his successful handling of the storming operation of the Russian plane, which had been hijacked and forced to land at the Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Airport in Madinah, Western Saudi Arabia,

last March.

The King also decorated Lt. Gen. Ghaith Ghazi Alharbi, Commander of the Special Security Forces, with the King Abdul Aziz Class One Medal, Maj. Gen. Khalafallah Alharthi with the King Abdul Aziz Class II Medal and Maj. Gen. Ali Abdullah Abdulwahed with the King Abdul Aziz Class III Medal, for their role in leading the team which freed the plane's crew and passengers.

Divided into two categories, members of the squad were also decorated with the King Faisal Class II Medal and the King Abdul Aziz Class III Medal respectively.
