29/05/2001 King Fahd orders disbursements to farmers

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz has ordered the disbursement of SR 1.7 billion to Saudi farmers as part of their dues for cash crops sold to the General Corporation of Silos and Flour Mills for the agricultural year 1419 AH, it was reported here today.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Muammar said the dues would be paid, starting with small farmers, effective next week. ‘This gesture from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to farmers comes is in line with his continuous care for the citizens', Al Muammar, told SPA.
