27/05/2001 King Fahd extends assistance to a number of Islamic societies

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz has issued his directives to extend SR 7,376,250 as a financial assistance to a number of Islamic societies and centers in Asia, Africa, America and Europe.

The financial assistance will be used in financing educational and Islamic call projects. Moreover, the monarch has ordered the provision of some Islamic centers and organizations with copies of the Holy Quran and its Meanings, in addition to some Islamic books.

He has also ordered allocation of scholarships to the sons of the Muslim minorities in the Caribbean countries, as well as appointment of Islamic callers in some other countries. On the other hand, the King has ordered organization of forums and training courses in the Islamic Shariah for the imams of mosques and Islamic callers in some countries in line with the recommendations of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs. This was announced by Dr Salih Al-Ayed, the Acting Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, in a statement to SPA.
