The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz patronized here Monday evening the final soccer match for the Cup of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the sports season 1421AH.
Al-Ittihad defeated al-Nasr 1-0 in the final match, which was played at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah. On arrival at the stadium at 10:15pm, King Fahd was received by Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, the Second Deputy Premier, the Minister of Defence and Aviation and the Inspector General, Prince Abdulmajeed bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Makkah region, Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, the General President of Youth Welfare and Chairman of the Saudi Football Federation and a number of Princes and high ranking officials.
After the match, King Fahd handed Prince Abdulrahman bin Saud bin Abdul Aziz, Chairman of the Board of al-Nasr Club, a reward of SR250,000 and silver medals to the players for taking second place. King Fahd, then, handed the reward of the first place, an amount of SR300,000 to the Chairman of the Board of al-Ittihad Club, Ahmed Omer Masoud. The Saudi monarch handed also the Cup to the Club's captain, Basim Al-Yami and gold medals to the players.
