06/05/01 King Fahd orders distribution of 187,012 copies of Quran

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz has ordered distribution of 187,012 copies of the Holy Quran to governmental departments and Islamic organizations, centres and societies in a number of countries, it was announced here today.

These copies of the Quran, along with its translation and meanings, are published at the Madinah-based King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran.

The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance, Sheikh Saleh bin Abdul Aziz bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh said that these copies of the Holy Quran would be sent to organizations in Burma, Congo, Pakistan, Britain, Jordan, Macedonia, Japan, Yugoslavia, Kyrgyzstan, Bahrain, Sudan and the United Arab Emirates.

He disclosed that these copies would be dispatched also to the Kingdom's embassies in Argentina, Egypt, Cameroon and Nigeria, in addition to a number of Islamic organizations in other countries.
