The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz has issued an order to host, at his personal expense, 320 pilgrims from African countries, including 200 from Eritrea, to perform the Hajj this year under the supervision and organization of Madinah's Islamic University.

The University's Rector Dr. Salih bin Abdullah al-Aboud told the Saudi Press Agency that the pilgrims would come from 41 countries, noting that hosting pilgrims is just a small part of what King Fahd has been extending to Islam and Muslims all over the world. He said the University had undertaken all the required arrangements and put up a plan for hosting the pilgrims from their arrival in the Kingdom until their departure. The University's Rector thanked King Fahd for honoring the University with this task.
