02/11/2000 King Fahd donates US$5 million for Medical Centre in Astana, Kazakhstan
Astana, 2 November 2000

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz has donated five million U.S. Dollars to establish a Medical Centre in Astana, Kazakhstan, it was announced here today.

The announcement was made by Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in a press statement following the laying of the foundation stone of the new Kazakhstan Parliament in Astana earlier today.

Prince Sultan told reporters that cooperation between the Kingdom and Kazakhstan would not be confined to the fields of construction and development. In response to a question, he said the official talks between the Saudi And Kazakh sides had shown that their viewpoints were identical.
