Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz has issued his instruction to allocate the amount of one million and three hundred thousand US dollars to the budget operation of the Islamic Institute in Tokyo, which is affiliated to Imam Mohammad bin Saud Islamic University. This was announced by Rector of the University Dr Mohammad bin Saad Al-Salim who expressed thanks and appreciation to King Fahd for this generous gesture to serve Islam and Muslims.
In a press statement, he said: “King Fahd has contributed greatly to the service of science and scientists” and “at a cost of more than thirty million Saudi Riyals, has to his credit the rebuilding the Islamic Arab Institute in Tokyo as a centre for cultural enlightenment.”
He added that the budget operation will enable the Institute to set long term programs in teaching the Arabic language and Islamic studies. It will also be able to support plans for scientific and cultural continuity with universities in Japan and to develop its relations with Islamic institutions.
