06/10/2000 King Fahd sends evacuation planes for Palestinian casualties
Riyadh, 6th October 2000

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz today ordered the evacuation of Palestinian casualties for medical treatment in the most modern Saudi hospitals. King Fahd ordered that evacuation planes, equipped with the most advanced facilities, be sent to Amman, Jordan and Al-Areesh, Palestinian territories, to lift Palestinian citizens who had been seriously injured recently during the ongoing Intifada against the Israeli army in the Palestinian territories.

The order also included sending a Saudi specialist medical team to the West Bank and Gaza Strip to help in treating injured people there. Hospitals on the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip would be provided with whatever they needed including medicines and medical appliances and other supplies. The order comes within Saudi Arabia's firm and constant support of the Palestinian cause, including the restoration of all Palestinian rights, the most important of which is the Holy al-Quds [Jerusalem].
