King Fahd Islamic and Cultural Meeting issues recommendations
Budapest, 10th September 2000

King Fahd Islamic and Cultural Meeting, which concluded here earlier today, recommended that an honorary prize for Islamic work in the field of Islamic call be established for those who render invaluable services to Islamic communities in the west.

The meeting, which expressed thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz, governor of Riyadh region, Prince Abdul Aziz bin Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, minister of state, member of the cabinet and chief of the court of the cabinet's presidency, and Dr. Saleh bin Abdul Aziz Al Al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Propagation and Guidance, also recommended that new educational, scientific and call books and curricula be composed to meet the requirements of new Muslims in order to provide them with a basic knowledge of Islam.

They underscored the importance of establishing an Islamic information center to serve the needs of the Islamic centers and to facilitate communication with prominent Islamic personalities.

They also recommended the establishment of an Islamic center in Hungary.

They recommended that the Islamic centers in Europe be linked with the fatwa authorities in Islamic countries so that they could convey correct and authorized fatwas and Islamic regulations and knowledge to others.
