16/08/2000 King Fahd allocates land for the OIC’s headquarters
Jeddah 16 August 2000.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, has issued his directives to allocate a piece of land in Jeddah for the Secretariat General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).

A Press statement released by the OIC’s Secretariat General said it had received a cable from the Saudi Foreign Ministry which included the royal directives. The press statement highlighted the support being given by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the OIC and its keenness to enable it to perform its mission in a satisfactory manner.

On behalf of the OIC’s member states, the OIC’s Secretary General, Dr Izzuddin Lraki sent a cable of thanks to the King.
