King Fahd orders distribution of copies of the Holy Quran
Riyadh, 13th February, 2000

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz has issued an order to provide a number of governmental departments, Saudi embassies and Islamic institutions inside the Kingdom and abroad with a total number of 78,272 copies of the Holy Quran in a number of different editions and translations of its meaning in a number of languages. All these copies are produced by al-Madinah-based King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Quran.

This was announced here on Sunday by the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance Sheikh Salih bin Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh, who is the general supervisor of the Complex.

In a statement, Sheikh Salih said that the order of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques emanates from his determination to ensure that Muslims are in constant contact with the Almighty's book by meeting the needs of Muslims everywhere for the Holy Book and the translations of its meaning.
