King Fahd receives members of the GCC Consultative Commission
Riyadh, 5th February, 2000

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz received today at his office in the royal court at al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh, members of the Consultative Commission of the GCC Supreme Council headed by Mohammad bin Ali Aba Al-Khail and Secretary General of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) Jameel Al-Hujeilan, who conveyed to the King, the greetings and appreciation of the GCC leaders and peoples.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques welcomed them in their second home - Saudi Arabia - and expressed his appreciation of their continual efforts for the benefit of the GCC people. He said the GCC had, with God's blessings and through the efforts of its people, achieved much. He urged all to abide by the noble Islamic faith, the guiding light in all our works to serve our homelands and peoples.

For his part, Jameel Al-Hujeilan briefed King Fahd on the results of the Consultative Commission's meetings within the framework of the directives of the GCC leaders which focused on interests and progress of the GCC countries and peoples. On behalf of himself and the Commission's members, Al-Hujeilan expressed thanks and appreciation to the King for his useful instructions.

The reception was attended by Prince Abdul Aziz bin Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, the Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet and Head of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Mohammad Al-Nuweiser, Head of the Royal Court, Ibrahim Al-Anqari, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Dr Abdul Aziz Al-Khuweiter, the Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet and a number of officials from the GCC General Secretariat.
