Education Minister Dr. Mohammad bin Ahmed Al-Rashid has expressed thanks and appreciation to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, his Crown Prince and Second Deputy Premier for the support and encouragement being extended by the Saudi leadership and the community to Saudi teachers. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency on the occasion of International Teachers Day, which was observed by the Kingdom yesterday, Dr. Al-Rashid said the Kingdom's participation in the day reflected the crucial role in the sphere of education of the teachers (who now form a significant section of the Saudi workforce) in advancing progress and development. The number of Saudi teachers working with the Ministry of Education now totals 140,000, he added. In the context of training teachers, he said the Ministry of Education has established 42 teachers training Centers, which are manned by the qualified staff and which use specialized techniques in training and programming systems.
