A delegation of Saudi aid organizations, including the Chairman of the Saudi Red Crescent, Abdul Rahman Al-Sweilim, the Secretary General of the World Muslim League, Abdullah Al-Obied, and the Secretary General of the Saudi Aid Committee, Adnan Al-Basha, arrived in Albania and held talks with high level officials there.
After touring the refugee camps and assessing the humanitarian needs, the Saudi delegation held talks with Albanian Deputy Prime Minister Ilir Meta and Health Minister Leanaro Solis on how the two countries could co-operate to help the Kosovo refugees.
Following the meeting, the Chairman of the Saudi Red Crescent said that the Saudi delegation, acting upon the instructions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd and the Saudi aid organizations, has found the Albanian Government willing and eager to co-operate in channeling aid from the Kingdom to the refugees. He quoted the Albanian Prime Minister as saying that "the Albanian Government and people of Albania are grateful for the massive aid donated by the Kingdom which was among the very first countries to respond to the Kosovo tragedy."
As part of continuing Saudi aid, a field hospital has arrived in Albania with one hundred doctors and paramedical to put into operation the hospital and other ten medical centers.
