The King Fahd Specialist Hospital & Research Center in Riyadh has issued a statement confirming that the results of the tests on King Fahd were satisfactory. Following a check-up on Monday, 3rd August, 1998, an abscess in his abdominal cavity was drained under local anesthetic. No surgical intervention was needed. King Fahd’s general medical condition is good and it was stated that he would spend only a few days in hospital.
