Prince Abdul Aziz bin Fahd, Minister of State and Cabinet Member, will open the King Fahd Mosque in Los Angeles on Friday 17th July. The Mosque and its facilities are located in the western part of the city and will be able to accommodate 2,000 worshippers.
Built at a cost of $8.1 million, the Mosque and Islamic Center are covered inside and out with Saudi marble. Its design reflects a unique touch of Islamic architecture, making it one of the landmarks of Los Angeles. Prince Abdulaziz funded the cost of the land plot and preliminary work, and the entire project was executed at the personal expense of King Fahd.
