Geological surveys and mineral exploration have revealed that, in addition to the vast oil reserves, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia possesses large deposits of various minerals, including bauxite, copper, gold, iron, lead, silver, tin and a number of non-metallic minerals.

The most important deposits discovered are the following:

• Al-Jalamid phosphate

• Al-Sawawin iron ore

• Al-Khnaiguiyah zinc

• Al-Hajar, Zalm and Ad-Duwaihi gold

• Jabal Sayid copper

• Al-Zabirah bauxite

• Harat Kishb and Harat Rahat basalt

• Yanbu clay
