In 1999, the King Fahd Cultural Center was completed. Situated in the capital, the King Fahd Cultural Center is a fine example of how King Fahd has set out to achieve modernization within the cultural traditions of the country. The Center is housed in a building which, in the grace and beauty of its design, suitably reflects the riches of the Kingdom’s artistic productions, both past and present, which are to be displayed there. The building occupies an area of 11,960 square yards [10,000 sq m] and, within it are contained a theater with a seating capacity of 3,000; a library; a training theater; a restaurant; and a cafeteria; as well as the necessary administrative offices.
